Catastrophic Near Miss

Did you know that in July 2012 the Earth had a near catastrophic solar event?
I posted yesterday about the Carrington Event that happened in 1859. Scientists say that the near event that happened in 2012 would have been of the same magnitude. The difference being our dependence on electricity now as opposed to 1959. Had the solar flare or Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) happened the week before the earth would have been in the direct path of this particular flare. In space we would have lost satellites for guidance systems (GPS), internet and entertainment. Here on earth we would most likely have lost all cell communication and most electronic devices could have been rendered useless. Also, any car manufactured with computer components (most since 1980) would most likely just stop in its tracks.
To say that our way of life would have changed immediately is an understatement. Let's not forget the panic and civic collapse that would have occurred.
I want to make this point: This happened only 4 YEARS AGO! In our lifetime! There was very little press at the time about this. Ask yourself why. Then ask yourself...is my family prepared if this happened today? Do we have a plan for a crisis that might effect us and change our way of life?
When you are ready, HTF - The Survival Store is here to help you get prepared. Best not to put off your prepping plan. Many crises can hit without warning.
