Join us on April 28th as David Zugsberger (KL7FO) presents HAM radio basics. David is an amateur radio operator (ham) who has been involved with emergency communication through ham radio for over 30 years. Presently David is serving as the Emergency Communication Coordinator in Abbeville County and is also active in the Anderson Radio Club and by conducting ham radio license classes. What will be covered: - What is ham radio and how is it different from CB or other non commercial radio systems. - How will ham radio aid me (or others) in an emergency? - Why do I need a license and how do I get one. - What radio equipment would I need and how much would it cost.
